How Cellulite Forms
There have been many scientific studies to shed light on how cellulite forms. Scientists are still not sure. Based on the research, it is thought that cellulite begins when an accumulation of swollen fat cells develops. The swollen fat cells press on the connective fibers that surround them. Then connective fibers bend and pull the skin downward to which they are connected. The result of these conditions is a puckered look on the surface of the skin, which we call the “dreaded” cellulite. Another theory, focuses on the hormones that are produced in each individual, male and female, alike. This conjectures that cellulite does not affect the appearance of skin until after puberty. Why more women have problems with cellulite then men can possibly be traced to the difference and levels of hormones each sex produces. Also, cellulite seems to be directly linked to the amounts and quality of exercise and nutrition a person maintains. A healthy lifestyle seems to promote a better and possibly reduced level of cellulite in a person verses an individual who does not maintain themselves with such care. However, diet and exercise CAN NOT eliminate cellulite. A predominant assumption remains prevalent that hereditary plays an important role in the appearance of our skin. This does not suggest that the methods contained within this website are powerless against the genetic role that contributes to the formation of cellulite. Just because your mother lost her battle with cellulite does not mean you can’t help yourself win yours!
